Paul Henni's Hill Dwarves
Mail Order Limited Release
While running a Games shop in 1980, Paul Henni, began 'Paul Henni Design', initially sharing a workshop with
Ali and Trish Morrison (then GW/Marauder designers). Paul designed eight incredibly original Dwarves that
enjoyed a limited release with GW Citadel Mail Order in 1986, as Paul Henni's Hill Dwarves.
Known to collectors as 'The Norwegian Dwarves' - this was a short lived arrangement, for which Paul got
10% of the sales, a mere six pounds (£6 GBP) After declining a position with GW Citadel from
Bryan Ansell, Paul took his Dwarves and established 'Acropolis Design' creating masters to manufacture his own
range of figures, these were cast and distributed by Scotia Micromodels. The Dwarves were incorporated
into the 'Dwarf Guard' of a series called 'Maze City'- and two changes were made from the original eight Dwarves;
Abdul Noface had a beard that came out towards you looking at him from the front - this caused mould problems,
so he was re-modelled as AMC035. Wersmaface could have been re-released, but this has not yet been verified.
Together with the remaining dwarves, these slotta figures were remodelled with solid bases as:

"Boli Longface" ----- AMC025
"Glim Rockcarder" - AMC027
"Mickael Finnagin" - AMC029
"Olni Swiftbolt" ---- AMC032
"Splitendz" --------- AMC033
"Snor Whit" -------- AMC036
The 'Maze City - Dwarf Guard' were added, to make up a total of twelve figures, and twelve more were designed for 'The Age of Empire Series: Rhom Dwarves' These again are of a uniquely original design, with wonderful blocky Aztec/Inca characters among them. Paul worked with Bob Fergusson of Scotia Micromodels for a couple of years, designing and sculpting many figures. while Bob, cast and marketed them. He also did freelance work for Scotia, designing 1/300 scale WW1, WW2 and SF, and later sold Acropolis to Scotia Paul then established a new company named "Zap! Figures" manufacturing a range of SF figures and vehicles.
Paul gave up designing around 1991, and today is enjoying a career as a Geoscience Information Manager.
